Netflix's Nobody Wants This season 3 trailer, second by second
Netflix posted the official trailer for season 3 of Nobody Wants This on its YouTube channel, and it had close to 2 million views when we scanned it on 25 October 2026. We ran it through v2neuro, our brain-encoding model trained on fMRI recordings, and charted the predicted brain response for every second of its 2:21. The short version: the strongest stretch is the last twelve seconds, after the dialogue has stopped.
The opening sits above the trailer's own middle
The trailer opens on the line "Hey, we live together", said and then repeated over the first nine seconds. Across the first three seconds the predicted response sits above the trailer's own median level of 0.73, rising from 0.71 to 0.93.
Two early high points follow. One lands at 0:13, just before "I love you" at 0:15. The other lands at 0:24, during the line about the hot rabbi who "blew up his life to be with you". Both reach about 1.05, the highest the curve gets for the next hundred seconds.
The quiet middle
From 0:32 to 0:36 the curve drops to around 0.41 to 0.52, in the gap after "Our story is a little bit more nuanced and much more romantic than that" and the short "Okay" that answers it.
The lowest second of the whole trailer comes at 0:58, at 0.29, at the start of the run of lines about wanting to discover yourself. A second low of 0.32 follows at 1:22. Through most of the middle minute the predicted response stays below the median, with brief rises rather than a sustained climb.
The steepest fall: 1:51 to 1:54
The fastest drop in predicted response runs from 1:51 to 1:54, falling from about 0.93 to 0.47 in three seconds. It sits inside the exchange about being "a perfect match for Noah", which ends on "It's perfect cuz it's us" at 1:55.
One line follows, "I feel really weird that I'm here for this, you guys", ending at 1:58. After that the trailer has no more dialogue.
The peak comes after the last line
From 1:59 the curve climbs from 0.50 to above 1.1 by 2:02 and stays there until 2:13. The single strongest second is 2:10, at 1.26, and the visual system leads the response at that moment. No line is spoken at the peak.
That makes this Netflix trailer back-loaded: its strongest twelve seconds are the ones with no dialogue, at the very end, and they sit well above the two early high points.
What an editor can take from it
If you cut trailers or ads, the useful thing here is the shape, not the show. This trailer front-loads two quick high points, lets the middle minute run below its own median, and saves its strongest stretch for a wordless close.
To test the same question on your own cut, scan two versions and lay the curves over each other. If the version with a shorter middle keeps more of its seconds above the median, that is the cut worth putting in front of a live audience.

A model's estimate of the average brain response to each second of the video, from v2neuro. It says nothing about views or shares. See our method and limits page.
