Comparison
neuro-viral vs VidCognition
Both tools look at a video ad before it runs, and both show a brain-response curve from the same family of published research. They are built for different jobs. This page says plainly where each one is the better choice, including where that is not us.
Side by side
| neuro-viral | VidCognition | |
|---|---|---|
| Main result | A second-by-second predicted brain response for the whole video | A written critique with 0 to 100 scores for hook, bridge and offer |
| Where the brain curve sits | It is the product | A secondary panel on paid plans, described on their site as directional |
| Video length | Up to 10 minutes (60 seconds on the free plan) | Up to 30 seconds |
| Time to a result | About 7 minutes for a 30-second ad | About a minute for the scores and critique, by their own figure. The brain panel follows a few minutes later |
| Two cuts compared second by second | Yes | We did not find this on their site |
| A recut of the weak stretch | Yes, from the AI editor | Rewritten hook lines to shoot |
| Published check against real viewing data | No. Our own test found no link, and we publish it | Yes. Their hook score correlates at 0.43 (Spearman) with early retention labels on 218 videos |
| Free use | One scan a month, no card | One analysis on sign-up, plus two free tools with no account |
| Paid plans | $29 and $299 a month | $29, $79 and $199 a month |
Where VidCognition is the better choice
- It has a validation figure and we do not. They measured their hook score against 218 videos with real early-retention labels and publish the result, with its limit: it separates weak hooks from strong ones and will not rank two near-identical variants. We publish no such figure, because our own test found that the predicted brain response adds nothing to a forecast of audience outcomes. See method and limits.
- It is faster. Scores and critique arrive in about a minute, against our seven minutes for a 30-second ad.
- It tells you what to change in words. A per-segment critique and rewritten hook lines suit a team that wants direction more than a chart.
- It has named users. Their site carries quotes from paid-social leads. Ours does not yet.
Where neuro-viral is the better choice
- Ads longer than 30 seconds. VidCognition stops at 30. neuro-viral reads the whole video, up to 10 minutes.
- Comparing cuts. Two cuts of the same ad are laid over each other, so you see the exact seconds where they differ.
- The timeline is the point. Every second has a value, a leading brain system and a trust score, not three segment scores.
- An edit comes back. The AI editor proposes a recut of the weakest stretch that you can render and compare with the original.
What the money buys
| Plan | Price a month | Seconds of video a month |
|---|---|---|
| VidCognition Starter | $29 | 300 |
| neuro-viral Creator | $29 | 1,800 |
| VidCognition Studio | $199 | 3,600 |
| neuro-viral Agency | $299 | 18,000 |
VidCognition counts one credit per second of video, with a minimum of 5 credits per analysis. neuro-viral counts scan time by video length. The two results are different things, so seconds are a comparison of volume, not of value.
What neither tool can do
Neither replaces a live test. A model that reads only the video cannot see targeting, offer, timing or audience, and those decide most of what an ad earns. Use either tool to decide what is worth testing, and let the live test give the final answer.
